Cultivating Wisdom for Cultural Renewal

GET TO KNOW

ROBERT BORTINS

Robert Bortins believes that truth, goodness, and beauty—pursued through classical education—can transform families and renew culture. As CEO of Classical Conversations, he has dedicated his life to equipping parents to raise wise and virtuous children who will shape tomorrow’s world.

Robert’s passion for education runs deep. Homeschooled through high school, he went on to earn an Industrial Engineering degree from Clemson University. Now, as he homeschools his own children and leads his family’s company, Classical Conversations, he brings both personal experience and professional expertise to the classical education movement.

Since 2012, Robert has served hundreds of thousands of students and their families through Classical Conversations. His thought leadership on biblical worldview in education and culture has made him a sought-after voice in the national conversation. As host of the successful podcast Refining Rhetoric, he explores the intersection of faith, education, and cultural renewal. His insights have been featured on prominent platforms including the Shawn Ryan Show, Allie Beth Stuckey’s Relatable podcast, and many others.

Robert serves on the boards of Gutenberg College, the Classical Learning Test, and NAV Sevens Rugby. He is also a member of the C12 Group, the largest professional development network of Christian CEOs and executives. He currently serves as President of the Moore County Republican Men’s Club. Under his leadership, Classical Conversations has been named a Certified Best Christian Workplace by BCW for six consecutive years—a testament to his commitment to biblical principles in organizational culture.

Robert and his wife, April, make their home in North Carolina, with their three children. Whether coaching rugby, shaping education policy, or investing in philanthropic endeavors, Robert pursues the classical ideal of the integrated life—where faith, family, and vocation unite in service to God and neighbor.
